NEW CLIENT INFORMATION
Whether you are looking to do mat, reformer or equipment, an initial one to one session is the best way to start your Pilates journey at The Studio. If you are thinking of starting Pilates reformer and equipment classes, we require you to begin with an initial one to one session.
Our prerequisite one to one session allows our instructors the chance to introduce you to the equipment and to evaluate and make recommendations to assist you in developing a plan and program to meet your goals. During this session, instructors will ask for an overview of past personal physical history, introduce Pilates principles and movement patterns, and lead you through a workout based on your needs and abilities. From here, clients will be able to begin their group class experience with better form and movement. The duration of this first session is 1 hour and 15 minutes and is ideal for first time Pilates student as well as those new to our Studio, with or without prior Pilates experience. An initial one to one session is not required for entry into our group mat classes.
MAT PILATES Our pilates mat class focuses on developing core strength, flexibility, balance and stamina. The instructor presents the exercises at multiple levels which allows students to choose to work at a beginning, intermediate, or advanced pace. Students learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core. No previous Pilates experience is necessary to join a mat class.
ESSENTIAL REFORMER (Beginner) Ground yourself in the essentials of the Pilates reformer while mastering the proper technique required to build core strength, stability and mind body awareness. Essential Reformer seeks to build comfort with taking cues from the reformer repertoire to target all major muscle groups for a whole body workout. This class is perfect for those who have just begun their Pilates journey and enjoy a slower paced class.
DYNAMIC REFORMER (Intermediate) Dynamic Reformer is a medium to high intensity class which is a perfect transition once you feel you have mastered the beginner level. This class continues to build on endurance and core strength while improving stamina and agility. Various props will be introduced to add increased challenge, including the Pilates ring, the jumpboard, hand weights and bands.
SCULPT REFORMER (Intermediate / Advanced) This class is a total body workout designed to build endurance, enhance flexibility and tone using exercises from the intermediate and advanced Pilates repertoire. This is a high intensity class that flows at a quicker pace from one exercise to the next and utilizes a variety of equipment (including the Pilates ring, the jumpboard, hand weights and bands). This class is suitable for those clients with a strong foundation in the Dynamic Reformer class looking for an additional challenge.
